When Fernandez tried to read the alternative definition, he was cut off by IAU president Ron Ekers, chair of the meeting. “I think it was disgraceful treatment,” says Brian Marsden, who was until last week head of the Minor Planet Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, US.
Later, when more questions were prevented, there was a cry of: “If there is democracy, listen to the questions. Let the people speak!”
Det er ikke usandsynligt, at mødet slutter uden en egentlig konklusion, og dermed må vi leve videre noget tid endnu uden en egentlig definition af, hvad en planet er.
